Frontend Contractors

Hire frontend developers who ship in week one

Vetted React, Next.js, Angular and Vue contractors for your team — named engineers, a rate quoted against your market, and a start date inside two weeks. You direct the work; we carry contracts, compliance and replacement.

Frontend developer building a React user interface on a laptop

“Senior React developer” is not a requirement.

It's a mid-level job and a lead-level job — roughly a 3× spread — depending on whether you need components built against an existing design system or a rendering architecture designed from scratch. Most briefs over-specify seniority and then under-use it. We'll tell you which one you actually need before quoting — that conversation is usually worth more than the rate negotiation.

What you can hire

Frameworks are the easy part. These are the things we screen for.

React & Next.js

App Router, server components, streaming and the caching model — the areas where most 2026 frontend projects actually fail. Our senior React contractors have shipped and debugged this in production, not followed a tutorial.

TypeScript at the type-system level

Generic components, discriminated unions for state, typed API boundaries. We screen for this specifically, because most "TypeScript" CVs mean `any` with extra steps.

Angular

Enterprise and public-sector Angular estates, including RxJS-heavy codebases and migrations off AngularJS. A smaller pool than React, and we keep bench depth in it.

Vue & Nuxt

Vue 3, Composition API and Nuxt SSR. Comparable engineering standard to React at a slightly lower rate, where your team already runs the stack.

Design systems

Contractors who have built a component library other teams consumed — API design, versioning, documentation. A different job from building screens, and priced as one.

Performance & accessibility

Core Web Vitals remediation against a target, and WCAG 2.2 AA as a contractual deliverable. Both are narrow specialisms with verifiable before-and-after evidence.

How we price a frontend engagement

We quote per engagement rather than off a fixed rate card, because the same job title spans a 3× range. These are the four things that move the number.

Seniority you actually need

The largest single lever, and the one most briefs get wrong. Building components against an existing design system is a mid-level job. Designing the rendering and state architecture is a senior one. We'll say which one the brief describes before quoting.

Scope and specialism

Design-system ownership, WCAG 2.2 AA as a contractual deliverable, and Core Web Vitals remediation against a target are narrow specialisms with small pools. Generalist React and Vue work prices well below them.

Timezone overlap required

Overlap is something you buy. A contractor with six hours of overlap with your working day costs more than one with two, for identical technical ability — and is usually worth it on collaborative product work.

Your market and engagement shape

We price each engagement against the market you're hiring into and the commercial shape of the work. A twelve-month engagement prices differently from a six-week one, and a UK inside-IR35 seat differently from a US corp-to-corp contract.

How an engagement runs

Named profiles in days, onboarded into your tooling, flexed as you go.

01

Scope the outcome

Stack, seniority, timezone overlap and the outcome that ends the engagement. We'll tell you if the brief describes a mid-level job you've specified as senior — that conversation saves you money.

02

Named profiles in days

Pre-screened frontend contractors with rates, availability and the specific work they've shipped. Named individuals, not a headcount you get assigned against.

03

You interview, we don't oversell

A 45-minute judgement call and a 45-minute session on a real problem from your codebase. If they're not right, we say so before you do.

04

Onboard and flex

Access on day one, a small shippable first ticket, and a named buddy. Extend, scale, or convert to permanent as the work moves. Contracts and compliance sit with us.

What we screen for

Not algorithm puzzles. We're not hiring for potential over five years — we're hiring someone to be useful in week two.

1.

A component API they designed that other teams consumed — props, composition, versioning, and what they'd change now.

2.

A performance problem they fixed, with the before and after numbers. Vagueness here is disqualifying at senior rates.

3.

How they handle a form with server validation, optimistic UI and a flaky network — the failure states most candidates forget.

4.

An accessibility issue teams ship by accident. If they can't name one, they haven't done audited work.

5.

What they'd refuse to build the way it was specified. At senior rates you're buying judgement, not hands.

Frequently asked questions

How much does it cost to hire a frontend developer on contract?

It depends on four things: the seniority the work actually needs, whether it calls for a specialism like design-system ownership or accessibility, how much timezone overlap you require, and the market you're hiring into. We quote per engagement rather than off a fixed rate card, because the same job title spans a 3x range. Tell us the brief and we will give you a number against it.

How fast can a frontend developer start?

Named profiles within a few days and a start date inside one to two weeks for mid and senior generalists. Design-system, accessibility and performance specialists take three to six weeks in any channel, because those pools are genuinely small.

Do you hire React, Angular and Vue developers?

All three, plus Next.js, Nuxt, React Native and Svelte. Framework barely moves the rate — they price within about 10% of each other in most markets. What moves the rate is whether you need components built or a rendering architecture designed.

Can I hire one frontend developer, or is there a minimum team size?

One is fine. Most engagements start with a single contractor and grow if the work justifies it. There is no minimum headcount and no minimum contract length beyond a 30-day notice period in both directions.

Where are your frontend developers based?

India, plus partner geographies in Eastern Europe and Latin America, with onshore options in the US, UK and EU. We match on timezone overlap as well as skill, and write the overlap commitment into the contract — "minimum 4 hours overlap with 09:00–18:00 GMT" is enforceable, "flexible hours" is not.

What if the developer isn't a fit?

Replacement is covered by an SLA with a number of days in it, not a best-efforts clause, and we carry the cost of the re-ramp. You approve any substitution — the person you interviewed is the person who delivers.

Can a contract frontend developer convert to permanent?

Yes, and it's the lowest-risk permanent hire available because you've watched the work for months. Conversion terms are agreed at contract signature rather than negotiated when you want to convert.
